Chad's first chance to get up close and personal with his
fans came in March of 2001. Appearing at the Harrisburg East
Mall in Harrisburg, PA, he got to see first hand what an impression
he had made on the viewers of ABC's General Hospital. A meet
and greet at the mall was followed by a VIP dinner and everyone
in attendance had a blast, including Chad!
Three months later, on June 23, 2001, Chad joined co-star
Wally Kurth (along with Wally's band Kurth & Taylor) in
Pittsburg, PA, for a charity concert and meet and greet. The
event included the Kurth & Taylor concert, a Q& A
session and a live auction. It was a rousing success and even
though Chad had been a last minute replacement on the bill
many of his fans made the trip to see him again.
On July 22, 2001, Chad did his second solo appearance, this
time in Andover, MA at the Comedy Palace. He conducted two
lengthy Q & A's- one at each of the two shows he did that
day-signed posters and 8x10s, and gave his guests a peak at
his comedic ability doing impressions of fellow cast mates.
As July drew to a close, Chad had his first chance to experience
General Hospital Fan Club Weekend-held each summer at The
Sportsman's Lodge in Studio City, California. Chad appeared
as a guest at four events-The Coltin Scott Martines Fan Club
event, on Friday, July 28th; Breakfast with Amber Tamblyn
on Saturday, July 29th; The Real Andrews Fan Club event on
Saturday, July 29th; the General Hospital Fan Club luncheon
on Sunday, July 30; and co-hosted the Manic Monday event ,
on July 31st with Maurice Benard and Billy Warlock.
Disney's California Adventure was the site of Chad's next
appearance. As part of the ABC Soap Stars line up Chad participated
(along with many of his GH co-stars) in meet and greet/autograph
sessions at the theme park on August 3, 2003.
In October 2001, Chad joined many other daytime stars for Daytime
Unites. It was a great day for a great cause and it once again,
gave fans a chance to not only meet their favorite daytime
stars but to help others.
As the year closed our nation was still very caught up in
the tragedy of September 11th, but Chad, like so many other
celebrities was doing his part to show his support for New
York. On November 11, 2001, Chad appeared at the Poughkeepsie
Galleria for a meet and greet, then headed to the Brokerage
Comedy Club in Bellmore, NY to entertain and meet his fans.
The following day, November 12, 2001, Chad made another appearance,
this time in the heart of NYC, at Jennifer's Restaurant where
he amused the crowd with anecdotes, impressions, a Q &
A , a charity auction and even a bit of singing.
